File conversions

Altium designer & Protel users

We can convert your Protel 99SE and DXP, and Altium Designer 6 files to Gerbers. Please send .pcb or pcbdoc files, we will send the generated Gerber files to you for final approval before starting manufacturing.

Eagle users

Please note that during the file upload process it is important to specify which layer objects we should use for silkscreen and inner layers mid-layers. If you do not specify which layers to use, we will use the following default settings for silkcreen per our CAM scripts or place your order on hold for clarification on inner layer object selection:

Top Silkscreen: L21 & L25 tPlace & tNames

Bottom Silkscreen: L22 & L26 bPlace & bNames

Eagle users can generate the Gerber 274X files in one minute under our instructions, please download the instruction from here.

CAM users

We prefer RS274x Gerber and excellon drill file format, if any other file format the files generated will be returned for customer approval. Because it may cause unexpected mistake in the CAM output processing, so to avoid error it is strongly recommended that you double check the CAM outputs.

All PCB packages will have ability to output RS-274X Gerber files, here we list the common Gerber extensions but your files may be different, please zip only the required files together, dont include those unneeded files for fastest processing.

To believe or not, customers often provide incorrect drill format. The NC Drill file defines hole locations and tool numbers X&Y coordinates, here we list two typical drill file examples Example A and Example B

Example A - NC Drill File with Header Tool List

NOTE: This only a common output sample showing tool sizes listed in header NC combination file. Various CAD software could produce a slightly different output, make sure this file is ASCII text viewable in notepad, there should not be any odd characters other than and % in this file.

Example B-NC Drill File without Header Tool List

NOTE: This only a common output sample without tool list in header. You may require a separate tool list for hole sizes for each tool number if they are not embedded within the this file. Various CAD software could produce a slightly different output. This file must be ASCII text viewable in notepad, you should not see any odd characters other than and % in this file.
